PRACTICAL INFO

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is the lodge?

We’re at 14 Ebersohn Street, Paradise Beach — a quiet, safe beachside neighbourhood about 10–15 minutes from Jeffreys Bay town centre. You’re steps from the beach with direct ocean views. It’s more peaceful than staying in town, but worth knowing if you’re planning to walk to restaurants or shops — you’ll want transport for that.

Do I need a car?

Not necessarily. Airport transfers are arranged through us, and we shuttle guests to and from surf sessions daily. For activities and day trips we also sort logistics. That said, having your own car gives you more freedom to explore town, grab food, or head to spots on your own schedule. Car rental is available at Port Elizabeth Airport if you want that flexibility.

What does a typical day look like?

Early morning surf session, back to the lodge for breakfast, then free time — pool, rest, explore, or join a yoga session. Afternoon surf or an activity if you’ve booked one. Evenings are communal — sundowners on the deck, a braai, or dinner together. It’s structured enough to make progress in the water, relaxed enough to feel like an actual holiday.

How many people are in a surf group?

Maximum 4–6 surfers per coach. We keep groups small on purpose — it means more time in the water with actual feedback, not just watching from the beach. If you want dedicated one-on-one coaching, private sessions are available to book separately.

What activities can I add on?

A lot. Skydiving, bungee jumping at Bloukrans Bridge (world’s highest), Addo Elephant Park safari, private game reserve (Schotia), horse riding on the beach, wakeboarding, sandboarding, quad biking, kayaking at Storms River, deep sea fishing, and more. All bookable through us — before arrival or once you’re here.

What’s the difference between a regular stay and a collab camp?

A regular Surf Camp stay is flexible — you choose your dates, your room, and build your own experience around daily coaching and lodge life. Collab camps are hosted by fun personalities like Rachel John, Emmi Schmidt, and Demi Mulder. They run on fixed dates with a set group, a specific programme, and a distinct energy. Think retreat meets surf camp. They sell out fast and have a non-refundable cancellation policy, so book early if one catches your eye.

Do you cater for non-surfers?

Yes. Plenty of guests come with a surfer partner or friend and have no interest in getting in the water themselves. The lodge has a pool, ocean views, on-site yoga, and a full activities menu that has nothing to do with surfing. Safaris, horse riding, hiking, boat trips — there’s enough to fill a week without touching a board.

How and when do I pay?

Your accommodation and package are paid at booking to secure your spot. Any extras — activities booked on arrival, additional meals, or add-ons — are settled at checkout. Collab camp bookings are non-refundable once confirmed. If you have questions about payment options or want to discuss a booking directly, WhatsApp us on +27 (0) 82 220 2078.
