Founder
Tobias the young and purposeful founder of the Surflodge is originally from Germany but has grown up in SA and surfed all his life. He is a great surfer and fulfills his dream while teaching other people how to surf.
He is an honest and trustful person and one of the friendliest guys around, always with a smile on his face. You’ll always be able to count on him for whatever you need and he’ll be crazy excited to meet you and show you around.
Surfer
He is an enthusiastic and adventurous surfer. He loves to go on strike trips, whether it is a short surf trip with friends or a hike. He enjoys people’s company and is one of the most honest people you will meet. He also manages the lodge’s accommodation and is a qualified surf instructor.

Instructor
Daniel is one of our incredible surf instructors. He grew up in Jeffreys Bay, so the waves here are part of his DNA, and his father still shapes surfboards locally. That deep connection to the ocean really shows in his teaching—he’s especially great with intermediate surfers who want to push their skills further. Daniel has a calm and encouraging way about him, but he’s also always up for a laugh. He’s the kind of person who goes the extra mile without even being asked, making sure every surf session is not only about improving technique but also about having an unforgettable time in the water.
Volunteer
Emily is volunteering at the surf lodge. She is a ray of sunshine who loves Humus. Always down for a surf or all other kinds of adventures.
