2 Week Surf Camp in Jeffreys Bay
A SURFING ADVENTURE IN SOUTH AFRICA
Hi, I’m Rachel John, a 22-year-old adventurer with a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. While many might call me an influencer because of my work on social media, I prefer to think of myself as the mastermind behind epic surf trips.
Beyond my love for travel and surfing, I am also a competitive fighter. This is why I don’t stay in South Africa permanently—I have fights scheduled in the Netherlands, where I currently live in Amsterdam.
Two years ago, I traveled solo to this very place in South Africa and instantly fell in love. I crafted my own itinerary, packed with all the activities I had dreamed of doing, and shared it online. I had no idea that thousands of people would be inspired to follow the same journey. That’s how the idea for these surf camps was born.
So, while this may not define me completely, I’m simply someone who thrives on adventure and finds joy in bringing happiness to others.

I HAD FOUND MY NEXT BUCKET LIST ITEM... I WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO SURF!
Rachel John
Rachel John, a 22-year-old influencer from Amsterdam, first shared her surfing holiday to South Africa in 2021 through her social media channels. The trip was such an incredible experience that she wanted others to enjoy it too. And from this idea, RAJO’S Surf Camp was born.
“Two months ago, I had a campaign shoot where I had to surf—and as you know, I was terrible at it. But even though my first attempt was a complete failure, something about the ocean and the waves pulled me in. I had just found my next bucket list challenge: learning to surf.
I booked a stay at a surf lodge where I could take lessons and immerse myself in the experience. I had never traveled alone before, and now I was venturing to the other side of the world. It was both exciting and nerve-wracking—but I made it.
The past few days have been nothing short of incredible. Waking up at sunrise, starting my day in the ocean, completely disconnected from distractions—I have never felt so free. Stepping outside my comfort zone, saying yes to things I’d normally shy away from, has made me truly happy. I’ve never experienced anything like this, and I wish I could share this feeling with more people.”
Why Rajo’s?
So, why the name Rajo’s? Well, I’m Rachel John, and I thought it sounded cool. No judgment, okay? 😉 If you’ve got a better name in mind, feel free to slide into my DMs—I’m all ears!
What Makes This Surf Camp Special?
At Rajo’s, we take care of everything so you can focus on what truly matters—relaxing, having fun, and catching waves. From the moment you arrive, we make sure you have the best experience possible. I personally ensure that breakfast and dinner are covered, and trust me, these are healthy, nourishing meals that I, as an athlete, would eat myself.
We don’t just plan activities—we curate unforgettable experiences. Each surf camp is carefully designed, and we’re always adding new adventures to keep things fresh and exciting.
But that’s just the beginning…
World-Class Waves & Life-Changing Experiences
You’ll be learning to surf on some of the best waves in the world—an experience that’s truly one of a kind. But beyond the surfing, past guests have told me that Rajo’s isn’t just a vacation—it’s a lifestyle shift. For two weeks, you’ll live the life of a surfer, surrounded by an incredible community. The friendships and connections that form here are something special. You might arrive solo, but you’ll leave as part of a big, supportive surf family.
So, if you’re ready to step outside your comfort zone, explore new horizons, and be part of something unforgettable, join us at Rajo’s Surf Camp. It’s more than just a trip—it’s an experience that will change your life! 🌊✨

Rachel's Surf Trip? In one word: AMAZING 🤍 it's the best experience I've ever experienced: good vibe, relaxed people, fun activities, the best surfing lessons ever, etc. Everything was top notch and you were free to do all the extra activities that were there, nothing was obliged to do! It was really the place to do things that you normally wouldn't do, but because you are with a really nice group you go through it together and you all have a lot of fun!
What an incredibly beautiful and special experience this surf trip was!! Besides getting to know new people, I also conquered many fears and got a little closer to myself. You were free to come and go, nothing was obligatory. The extra activities were all worth participating in. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip!
I had a very nice time with Rachel and all the girls I met on the trip. The stay was also super nice and there was a homely atmosphere. The people who work for the surf lodge and surf school are great and will make you feel comfortable. There is also a wide choice of activities that you can do, such as skydiving, horseback riding and much more. Personally I have nothing bad to say because I had such a good time. I definitely recommend it and if I get the chance I would definitely do it again!!!
It was an incredibly special experience to go to South Africa with a group of (still unknown) girls and meet Rachel. In Africa you really get the chance to do things outside your comfort zone! Personally I look back on a very valuable journey and I am also very grateful to have been given this opportunity 💛
It was an experience I will always remember! I have met wonderful people, conquered fears and found peace. There is no place where you come alive more than in South Africa! Rachel's Surf trip gave me the chance to get even closer to myself and I would definitely want to experience it again!
